Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.

This online marketplace has revised its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying all users about the change.

Online Platforms Response

Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.

The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces.

It has advised users to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.

Sizing System Updates

Earlier, the sizes had both one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10.

For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

Shopper Accounts

A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained.

Manual Updates

A different user, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products".

"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated.

Service Background

The service features exceeding 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.

It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options after backlash from users.
